Do Follow Update

Posted by Pixelhead

I just found Dawud’s Do Follow post and followed a link in his post to a Dummies Guide to Google Blogger post about making Google Blogger blogs Do Follow blogs.

Getting rid of the “no follow” tag, allows you to pass on your link love to those who make relevant comments.

So lets see if I can do this to our travel blog, the Travels of Lizzie Bean which is hosted on blogger.
Following the great directions for removing the the “no follow” tag on the Dummies blog, I was able to get rid of the tag in about 1 minute.

Let Everyone Know

Ok, the deed is done, next thing I did was to head over to RandaClay to choose an iFollow badge to match Lizzie’s blog. I choose this Green oneGreen iFollow Badge and Lizzie approved it.
Then after I dropped the badge into the side bar, I wrote a Do Follow post, much like the No Follow is Done post I did on Pixelheadonline. When writing this, I made sure to give credit where credit is due. Then after the post was written and published, I link the badge in the side bar to it, and that is it. Lizzie has joined the iFollow movement.

What do you think? Have you joined the movement.

Badge Update:ucommentifollow.jpg

I just came across this cool badge that I thought I would add to my badges. It’s another “Ucomment, I follow” badge I found at I really like the yin yang type of look. What do you think. Well which ever you decide to use, use one or both, but please do join the “Do Follow” Movement.

Update: Just found a great list of blogs that do not use the No Follow which is on Courtney Tuttle’s Blogs that Follow post.

Pablo, I do suppose that is the goal. Its all part of creating a network of bloggers. Although, I am actually thinking of using a different strategy which will create better conversations.

I personally try to post good content en comments en blogs, i use to mention my sites also., But i think sometimes we do not harm the site by posting our site. It alll depends on people, some are a good spammer, but others share information while advertising their site.

I really like what you have done here with the capturing of visitor information. How do I do that from my blog? or my website?

I have recently decided to make an effort to learn more about my online marketplace, that is how I ran across you. Actually someone sent me an article on blog marketing from After reading it, I read some of the comments and stumbled across your post. Since I use blogger right now, your comment was timely.

You are really on to something with your internet marketing efforts. No different than managing a brick and mortar building for a store front, a business owner needs to care about where they are located and how they are marketing themselves to that population.

I have only just begun and have created my first blog.

I would be grateful to have you check it out and provide some feedback. I am such a novice that I do not even know the html tags etc. Thanks for your kindness.

PS. I used what I thought was a local person to create my website for me and what I have identified is that they use an outsourcing group called WSI to build the website. I would not recommend WSI to anyone or you may get what I have got for an end result on your website. ( So please do not hate on my website. I already know it looks horrible. :)

Thank you for posting the update about the removing the no follow from blogger blogs. I’ve been worried about doing this myself for fear of spam, but it appears your site has that well under control. I especially like your commentors guidelines.

Here is my question, what have your results been following the removal of the nofollow attribute? Although this seems to open the door for tons of garbage spam, my guess is there are some pretty good filters out there that prevent most garbage.

What have you observed?

I actually ran across a variation of Google that allowed the searcher to check a box that filtered all sites that utilized nofollow. I forgot to bookmark it, but it’s out there. Of course, using advanced search techniques, this can be done manually.
