The other morning, as the result of reading a comment on the Vandelay Web Design Blog article Effectively Testing Your Website in Multiple Browsers, I was reminded of Chuck Sacco from the Mobile Marketing site PhindMe.mobi we had met at BlogPhiladelphia Unconference.

Chucks associate, Doug Bellenger, had been one of the session leaders at BlogPhiladelphia with the title of his group being Mobile Social Networking. Two things that I recall from the session were that the U.S. is behind in their mobile technology as compared to countries like Japan were buying a soda can be done with your cell phone. The other idea that I got from the mobile search technology session is that there are so many different mobile technology platforms out there that it seems a universal Mobile platform is what is needed.

In an interview with Chuck on StartUpOrBust, we find out that the business plan for PhindMe was developed as a part of an MBA project at Drexel University and was delayed a year so that the partners could finish their MBA program.

From the PhineMe website we learn that Phindme is a tool that allows its users to get and share information about local events all from your cell phone.

Currently in Beta in a few cities in the US, PhindMe is expected to go national some time this year.

With so many different mobile technology platforms available – i too feel there should be some standard.. which will definately help in improving the Search Technology used in our mobiles.

This technology might do well in Japan since everyone has a cell phone over a small area.

Very probable. I would think that mobile search technology in Japan would be something that is well underway to being mastered. I thought they were way ahead of us in the mobile technology arena.

would advise anybody who likes the Samsung model phones to buy it. The camera is extremly good it gives a very clear picture. the only bad thing about this phone is the memory for music, photos and videos, so you may need a memory card. However the memory for messages and phonebook is really good.

Well I do think that there is a future and I think that the future is not that bad for mobile marketing.

The companies need to find a right balance between customer satisfaction and profit. And I think that there have to be more effective ways to enhance advertising. Making sms free is a good option.

Mobile marketing has grown by leaps and bounds and it is bound to leap even more higher.

I guess this is because of the changing lifestlyes and also the attitide of people and the companies.

I think mobile computing is great but the one thing that kinda scares me is the built in GPS that phones are coming with. I cringe when I think about a mobile phone spyware app that not only tracks what websites you go to, it also tracks where you go! Scary, but it will be a reality.

even i found the same with mobiles, difference in mobile features with different country mobiles accept for the few handsets. if i can get all those features together in one mobile.
