I don't mind peering into the giant pool of shouts every now and then when I have a bit of energy - but I can't face them pouring in to my main inbox hourly. The sole message of the shout was "please digg my post." It got a little annoying. But then it stopped. I'm not sure if Digg adjusted something or my friend just realized how annoying his shouts had become. I'm not sure how useful the shout feature is, but at least it is no longer annoying.
