Freakin Spam

Posted by Pixelhead

I have been getting crap load of spam comments within the past several days and it is to just several posts that the spam has been coming to.  I turned off comments  to those posts, and then the  spam comments started coming to several others.

Spam pic

The spam comments look just like the pic above. I am wondering if the I need to upgrade my wordpress to get these spam comments to stop.  Anyone have any advice? I do have askiment installed and it had been working, but suddenly I am flodded with this crap.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

I looked at the Ip addresses and it appears there about 10 different ones. Will see if that does the job.

Try using the plugin found at http://akismet.com/

Used to face the same problem until I installed it. My spam days are over:)

Hey Adam,
I agree with John, block the IP. You can also block the EM and the Name.
If that fails, hire a hit man! ;-)

Monday morning the comments seemed to dwindle to just a couple. I did look up the Ip Address and sent several emails out requesting they not leave any more comments. Have not had any in a day or so.
In all there were 10 different IP Addresses being used, but the emails were different gmail accounts along with different names. But all were very similar to the spam comment above.
