Environmental Post for February 2008
Posted by Pixelhead
- From the January 2008 issue of Wired(I am always a bit behind reading Wired) comes a nice article about the effects of Global warming on our minds entitled Global Mourning from Clive Thompson.
- Does Canon Support Shooting Whales? from Greenpeace.org. I signed up and sent a letter to the head of Canon. Sent this one to Hugg if anyone cares to Hugg it.
-
- Speaking of Greenpeace, if you have a Facebook account, you can Join the Greenpeace Facebook page, and recieve regular updates from Greenpeace on your Facebook page.
- A cool video that I found via Stumbleupon -High-school teacher spreads the word on climate change. This is a pretty awesome video, which has been viewed several million times, and provides a pretty good argument that even GW would have to agree with…do you think?
- Here is a link to a short little anti-littering video.
From Hugg.com:
- A Nature.com article about the use of BioFuels instead of Fossil Fuels.
- Ecolibris reviews Stirring It Up: How to Make Money and Save the World
Nature Photography
- Stop by Forrest’s site and check out his Pacific NorthWest Gallery for some awesome nature pictures.
- I Came across SeeHere’s Nature Photography post with lots of pics and links out to other photos including DropBears picture above.
That’s it for the February Environmental post. If you have any posts or stories you would like included in next months post or even in this post, please leave a comment.

I’m changing the text in my letter to Canon right now. I’m thinking about printing it instead, and attaching a few photos. This is what I have so far:
And then most of the Greenpeace letter. I’m not going to stop using their gear, and I’m curious what Nikon’s position is ( although they don’t bill themselves as saviors of the environment / planet ). But I hope their customers get attention.
