Twitxr:Twitter for Photos

Posted by Pixelhead

After reading Techcrunch’s Twitxr – Like Twitter, With Pictures. Yeah, It’s Photoblogging, I just had to create an account and test Twitxr(its pronounced Twicher) out for myself.

After creating an account, you can then upload pictures from your computer(can not add online photos you maybe hosting somewhere such as Flickr).

Signing up is pretty easy, although modifying your settings might be a little wonky. I had a bit of difficulty enabling Facebook…but maybe that is just me. You can also enable Twitxr to post updates to Twitter, which is easy as adding your Twitter user name and password.
To add a picture or a new update, look for the “New Update” button at the top left of your Twitxr page.

I really like the fact that you are able to easily geo-tag your photos that you post. How cool is that. In addition to the geo tagging, there is also a map feature that lets you see where all of your contacts are located.

I am not sure how often I will be Twitxing, but it is a pretty cool micro-blogging site that hopefully will become as popular as Twitter.com.

Add me, Pixelhead, when you join and I will do the same.

I’ve read a lot about this whole Twixter thing, and honestly, I’m not sure I think it’s going to work. Geotagging is cool, but there is a disconnect between the ease of typing in text (twitter) and pictures. We’ll see.
