Paul the top commentator for February, over at New Home Phoenix is involved in an SEO contest where participants want to be number one in Google for Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World. I love the idea that Realtors, a group that generally has been resistant to adoptingÂ new marketing techniques, is moving into the Social Marketing realm. Even though they are using many “old” SEO techniques to get their results, I think that overall the participating Realtors are going to gain a lot of knowledge from the event. Paul, wisely asked for my assistance in the contest, instead of spamming the comments with the keyword phrase. I intern, did a review of the contest and gave NHP a link on My Hard Money Blog. I may be giving him a few more links on several of my other Real Estate Directories if Paul needs any more link love. Thanks Paul, and good luck, I’ll be monitoring the SERP’s.

Vincent over at SEOContest2008 is in the middle fo another SEO contest in which the participants want to rank for SEOContest2008…good luck Vincent, I’ll be monitoring those results as well.

John, who has an Ecommerce site that seeks to help out parents that have the problem of dealing with pesky head lice, has some great advice for parents about the incubation period of head lice.

Thank you so much for the write up. I have really only been online for about 8 months and have seen the benefits and the true communities that are here. It is sites like this that really make the internet what it is. The best thing about Pixelhead is the way that you get all of your readers involved. Always addressing the questions and comments that are made. What you are doing is creating a community which is what a blog really is. I appreciate what Pixelhead is and stands for. Thank you for everything and I know that you didn’t do it for this, but if there is anything that we can do over here let me know and I will take care of it.

The movement of the real estate sector into Social Marketing realm shows the progress of a bright future. Though the SEO techniques used are backward but still the success is not too far.

I’m looking at the top 4 results and they have all the same characteristics. Good title, h1, h2 and meta tags, and about 140 pr1-pr5 sites linking with the anchor text “greatest real estate agent in the world”.

Basic stuff…not too hard when you’ve a google bombing a 7 word key term.

You would think it would not be that hard to rank for such a phrase, but the contest seems to have increased the difficulty.

You both are absolutely right. How ever the guy ranking number one Eric Bramllet has a team of like ten guys building links for his page. My theory is that link building on top of the basic SEO set up is key to ranking well for any key word. I haven’t checked how many links his page has but I am sure that there are thousands.

We are currently ranked 12th. With running the business it is hard to keep up with all those links.
