SEO Tip: Video Optimization

Posted by Pixelhead

I recorded the Video Optimization video last Friday before I headed out for a weekend of festivities with my bro, cousin, and son. I was planning on putting this SEO tip video up on Friday, but technical difficulties prevented me from getting it up.  I got most of this tip from Li of Searchmarketinggurus.com at podcampphilly.

Video Review Points:

Future SEO tips video posts will include optimizing photos, doing sample on-page optimizations for sites that I run across. If you have a site that you would like me to review in the video, please let me know. Got any other tips to share?

1 big mistake I made was not doing adequate research, having to abandon campaigns after a lot of work isn’t easy. But it’s just useless pushing forward with them.

Enjoying the blog as per usual :)

I keep listening, but I have yet to do any kind of analysis on my sites. I think the failure to do so is caused by having too much work already. In reality, this shouldn’t be much work, but whenever I start looking at keywords and any type of SEO effort, I usually don’t finish it.

There really is a lot of work to get a good SEO effort done. I’m glad I found you early on. You are the only SEO person I listen to currently, and so you are keeping me thinking about this stuff.

I think that may be why I lay awake at night…not sure about that though.

By the way, thanks for the tidbits on changing the links referring to my homepage. I’ve made those changes and will gladly accept any further critical analysis you might do in your free time.

I’ll need to write a post about you and your site to say thanks. If you have a blurb you want to include, send it my way and I’ll add that in.

Thanks for all the helpful advice and tips!

I am glad to be of service Wayne.

I often lay awake at night thinking about various projects too. Usually the next night I will need to be medicated to insure I don’t go to many nights without sleep.

SEO really isn’t difficult. However it can be both time consuming and tedious if done right. If I had to focus on the SEO efforts only one site, I surely would go bonkers.

Anything you write wold be most appreciated…thanks bunches, and I will keep my open for tips for your site.

One key point you’ve got there is to use the video on one’s own blog. This is beneficial so that it is used directly for its intended purpose. Clogging up the video sites with another video that isn’t really meant to be publicized does not serve the common good.

Some great seo tips there Pixelhead, and if everyone stuck to them they wouldn’t encounter a lot of the common quarrels of seo. Thanks for the post.

Brooks, I would never go so far as to call myself an expert…just a guy who works in the field of SEO.

Li abuses her SM authority in cruel ways when confronted with negative reviews, so I am not a regular reader of her blog. But the content is what’s important. Great tips.

I’ll have to try figuring out how to use my photoshop vid editing software so I can be like you when I grow up. :-)

I would be impressed if you could do that as well. I don’t edit enough, but when I do, I have been using the Windows Movie Maker.

i think that keyword research is a fundamental path of every campaign you could work for hours on a keyword that you don’t nees, so I think that giving to the research step a great focus you could save much time.

Great post and useful. A lot of people don’t put enough thought into optimizing their video content. However, as explained it basically requires the same SEO mindset of any other online marketing activity.

This is a great post for me, since I’m really trying to beef up my video presence online. I think your best point is about transcribing the video content and posting it on the blog. That’s key. Thanks for the tips!

I welcome the comment about putting a description of the video to cater for hte deaf, I am not deaf but I do not have sound on my office PC. This means that I cannot listen to the videos, and as much as I love to see your face cchatting away, without the sound it kind of kills it!

I have today remembered to check this video to find you talk about this very thing!

Great stuff anyhow!

Great tips. That day while searching net I found that submitting the articles as video is very effective in gettign traffic. I saw that there are some tools that convert the simple txt file in video so that you can submit. This idea is totally new for me..I never heard about this before. can you give me some idea on this?

Video optimisation can also drive traffic to sites. I am using a video submission tool which automatically submits my videos to different video uploading sites like youtube, veoh, putfile, kewego, spike, etc. and also to social bookmarking sites.
