it's good of you to sponsor kids, and it's great that you highlight kiva.

i love the idea of kiva. :) am currently unable to contribute so i merely put up its banner on my blog, and wrote a post on it.

i also turn to sites like freerice, the hunger site, and goodsearch, as ways to help alleviate poverty online, with no cost to me, and in ways which are quite easy (posted their banners as well).

it's great that you also participated in blog action day. :)

This is an interesting post. We definitely have to fight poverty and i agree with what you have said. Those are good ways. There are many people who might not be as fortunate as us.

Kim, its sad that the Katies of the world suffer in silence, due to no one having a clue. Wal-mart where her fictitious mom worked should have known, and should have made sure that Child care was afforded to this example of an under paid single mother.

Tertius, I could not agree with you more about the issue of respect.

JBO, It does seem to be a problem which we must be vigilant to increase our awareness of companies that sell sweatshop goods. Here are a couple of sites that maybe of use in this endeavor:
1. CoopAmerica Sweatshop Resources
2.Sweatshop.org
3.The National Mobilization Against Sweatshops
