SEO Intern

Posted by Pixelhead

The other day Lizzie put me on the task of finding at least one SEO Intern since the work has been coming in at such a break neck pace. It seems like every week we are getting a couple new clients…coming out of the walls I tell you. Anyway, I seemed to have let that task slip buy when I was checking out a TechCrunch article on IntershipIN a relatively new startup that was began for just $500. The idea is to enable college students who are looking for internships, and for employers who have positions available for interns, to go to just one place.

Creating an account on InternshipIN is free and posting Internships like the SEO Intern position I have listed, are free through the month of November. They are working on some premium posting options which should be reasonably priced.

Want to be an SEO Intern?

Do you live in the Philadelphia area, and want to learn SEO while getting paid? Check out the listing on InternshipIN and send your resume on over.

Looks like an interesting project. However, i can’t open InternshipIN site at the moment. Maybe they are having unexpected overload :) . Anyway, i am too far from your country so i will have to look over for some other Interns later.

What a pity that I cannot take up this opportunity. Some lucky intern is going to learn a hell of a lot of things from you.

I’d love to join but I do not live in or even nearby Philadelphia. I’ll try to move there this month but don’t take my word, please. I have to look for a place where my cats will be allowed to live, too. :)

We shall see…we have offered to take numerous young people under our wings, but kids are just so darn foolish.

Hey Adam,
I want to recommend a blog for you. It was just started by an organization that I’m a part of: Changing Lives Through Literature. It’’s a nation-wide, alternative sentencing program that seeks to offer high-risk criminal offenders the chance for an education in American Literature rather than another stint in prison (these individuals are typically guilty of property crimes or drug offenses—not personal or violent crimes.) Anyway, they just started a blog and something tells me you would enjoy learning more about this program. As a Canadian, I’m looking to start Canada’s first CLTL program, but right now I am working fulltime and completing my MA and so don’t have the time—but I’m working on it. Anyway here’s the link:

Take care,
Allan

Is this a Chicago-based service? All the jobs seem to be in Chicago or the immediate suburbs… Seems like a straightforward site though, hopefully it doesn’t die. Thanks for letting us know about it…

It sounds like a great opportunity but I do not live in that area. Too bad they are not willing to work with someone who is somewhat experienced who can telecommute.

The story about Jessica Mah and how she started InternshipIn for only $500 is kind of inspiring (not to hijack the thread from your SEO intern search or anything). She is really showing how, with some hard work and a good idea, you don’t need millions in funding or major corporate backing to succeed. Also – I like the term “bloggerpreneur”.

Seo is a thing, which you can learn by doing practical implementation, not by doing a course.

Unless, you have not optimized a site, you will not learn anything in SEO.

It really is a great opportunity for an individual to learn a new skill set that will allow them to not only build a serious income, but to learn some skills that are in tremendous demand.

An SEO intern is a great idea. The intern gets paid and learns, while you get cheap SEO work. I wish other geographic areas had such a simple system for finding an intern.

Hey it sounds like a good idea, and a good opportunity for a newbie starting out. I believe SEO is where the long-term traffic and money is, very valuable skills to learn.

Pixelhead, I look forward to hearing the results of this process. Your “experiment” could save us from the trouble of going this direction or could set a trend that everyone follows. Either way, it’s a great idea.
