Introducing the SEO Training Series Video

Posted by Pixelhead

This video introduces a series of posts that will be part of our SEO Training program. If you would like to be part of the series, please sign up to receive updates by either RSS or email.

Pixelheadonline Feed

After signing up for the feed, please send me a message via our contact form indicating that you want to be put on the SEO Training Mailing List.

For this series, I am going to use the site which was featured in the Canvas Shopping Bags post, MyBareBags.com, as the site that I will be doing a 1 month SEO campaign. This will include at least a  month of SEO services, free to Mybarebags.com, as I will be posting all the steps involved here.

SEO post featuring Mybarebags.com will include but are not limited too:

When you sign up to be on the SEO Training mailing list, you will receive not only updates, but you will get materials that I am not publishing here. You will also be able to ask me SEO questions via email during the period of time I am running this SEO Training special.

Need SEO Intern?

Some time ago I had put out a request for interns, and I had numerous people who were interested, but only one was seriously intent upon being involved with the internship. Dunstan Barrett, who is the webmaster over at Free Ipods Ect, will be participating in the program, by doing the SEO steps on one of his sites. Dunstan is an 18 year old entrepreneur  from South East England. Thanks Dunstan, I look forward to working with on this project.

Need SEO Training?

What about you, do you need some SEO Training?  If you have a site you want to have optimized, why not participate in the program. Are you interested in getting into the SEO business, or in getting an SEO position as a company that has an online presence that is lacking? Sign up.

If you are the former, that is someone who wants to be employed as an SEO or wants to make a living as a Freelance SEO, I suggest that you do as I did with Mybarebags.com, and find a local business or non-profit organization and ask them if they would mind being your SEO case study.

How about you? Do you need any SEO Training?

Just so I’m clear, this series will be posted on this blog, right? Because it’s already part of my RSS. :)

Yes, but I would encourage you to do similar posts on your blog if you would like to follow along. I am planing on doing a weekly lesson, which I will mail out at the beginning of each week. You could then do the lesson and write it up as a blog post.

Hi pixelhead. Signed up for the mailing list since I have been given a position to just do this sort of work. Site doesn’t have a blog and is rather an online shop. How much would this effect the SEO methods you’re describing?

Yeah, I need SEO training because I am newbie in the field of SEO(just 3 months of Experience).Whenever I get time, I search and read lots of blogs. In this way, I found your blog and some other good blogs, in which everything is written in simple and easily understandable manner. You have already taught me some things :) . I want to ask you one question, will I be able to download your training videos?

Abalone Beads, a blog is not required, but it is recommended…as always.

Nixhant, I had not thought about the possibility of using my videos offline, mostly because they are not what I would call high quality educational videos…but it is something to think about.

I think it’s a good idea. I wouldn’t write it up a blog post though. What I would do is write it up as a blog page. The reason is that I don’t blog about blogging–a.) i’m inexperienced and b.) there are enough excellent blog bloggers (metabloggers?) out there that I would just be rehashing their content–I prefer to post my own original content.

But I could definitely add an SEO page to my blog and then people could check it out on their own . . . Okay, I have to confess: that ellipsis represents me watch the video. What a great idea this is!! I’ll send you an email right away. Nice one!

PS. You seem a lot more comfortable in front of the camera than previous videos I’ve watched. That was really enjoyable.

I’ll be following along Adam and hopefully this will give me something to post. I’m an RSS subscriber of your blog so my question is: Are you going to send different material in the newsletter than what you are going to post here?

Random Blog, thanks for visiting, and hope you get a lot out of the series.

Pearl, yes, I was going to include some other materials. I guess I should create an official newsletter sign up form.

Allan, I might have seemed a bit more relaxed because I actually had some notes. I believe this was the third or fourth take. I might do a page for the series.

Thanks for the reply pixelhead.
Was looking over the mybarebags site and saw no blog there itself. The site does look very simple and I suppose that may appeal to their customers. Will their SEO be focused mainly on bringing in people relatedly interested in ecological conservation?

Abalone Beads, when doing SEO, I work with Keywords..whether the keywords attract environmentally conscious or not I can not say. I will be focusing on keywords for the site that have above a certain number of searches per day.

I can’t wait to start Adam!

Over the course of the program I’m not just looking to improve my site’s SEO but improve it’s useability and also I hope to regularly update the blog on my progress.

Since having the site I’ve had no direction. It’s gone from wordpress to html to wordpress to html. I’ve spent a lot of time from it and in reality I should’ve got a lot more out of it than I have already.

Blogging is something I want to take more seriously and this will definitely encourage me to write some useful posts on my blog!

Cheers Adam

That’s good advice Pixelhead for anyone looking to start out in the SEO business. It reminds me when I was taking an A+ course, in the manual we were using it made the same suggestion to seek out a non profit group, church, etc. It seems to be a tried and true first step for a new comer into a given industry.

Mikael, I like the company, and am doing it to develop the Baldydog.com SEO Training program. If more business comes out of the series, well, that would be great too.

Setai, I think getting into the SEO business could be very profitable for you. It does take time to build a client base as well as a reputation for being a competent and ethical SEO.
