Need a TPO – Twitter Profile Optimization Expert

Posted by Pixelhead

What is TPO?

TPO or Twitter Profile Optimization, is a term I coined this morning at 3am. I see in the SERP’s(Search Engine Results Pages) there are sites that appear for the phrase, but I will take credit for the TPO and actually defining it.

TPO Could actually be a career much like SMO(Social Media Optimization), which it could be niche career of as well. Twitter Logo

TPO Duties

  1. Set up Twitter profiles for companies and individuals to include registering  and tweaking the profile page.
  2. Put Twitter widgets on website’s/blogs.
  3. Add Twitter profile to various Twitter services to be sure of optimum Twitter performance.
  4. Actually doing some Tweeting for the clients new Twitter profile.
  5. Educate the client on proper Twitter use.
  6. Establish and/or identify some key niche Twitter contact relationships, such as other web designers if client is a web designer.
  7. Send Client updates.
  8. Be sure client is receiving Twitter updates.
  9. Give client positive feedback in regards to Twitter progress.
  10. Brain storm with client on ways to connect with their potential target Twitter audience.
  11. On going Twitter profile Tweeting and Twitter network maintenance.

TPO Fees

The TPO could operate on a one time fee, an hourly fee, a per tweet fee, a monthly retainer, or an ala carte method of payment.

It could also be just another add-on service to offer marketing customers that could make your marketing services invaluable to your customers.

Since Twitter and other Social Media sites are now mainstreamed, the ability for individuals to make a living at these services is very much a viable and quite lucrative option for entrepreneurs and other business people.

Get Paid $70,000 to Tweet

Do you think I am kidding about the idea of being paid to Tweet?  I came across the Mashable post DREAM JOB: $70K to use Twitter and Facebook were a county in Oregon was advertising for a Social Media Coordinator, with a salary of $70,000/yr.

Need a TPO?

If you need a TPO or you need some advice, please feel free to drop a comment, and I will either respond or email you back, or you can check out my previous Twitter posts.  Be warned, I am not touting myself as being a TPO expert…I really try not to portray myself as an expert at anything.

You experienced Twitter users…would you be willing to take on the job for $70,000?

Great article! As a consultant, I see the value of social media. However, for the average small business, effectively navigating social media is largely about understanding the Millennials. Please see my review of Millennials and social media.

Brother don’t you think it doesn’t cross my mind to have a Professional bookmarking service. This is a great idea but instead of telling us clowns
you should of sent us your professional designed site with the OPEN sign in the window :)
We’re bored blogging so now what ?
It amazes me when I get these auto followers I don’t know how it’s happening I guess I signed up for some twit app or whatever. But anyone that says here’s a free gift for following I go to the site and I’m never surprised their alexa is 14 million and their “copy” crap rap is like 2006 style. I do kick myself sometimes cause I think man this clown is probably making BUCO off suckers but the reality is people aren’t stupid and who wants to wake up knowing their a scammer spammer.
So my point is the service you described is GOLDEN and I bet with the right “clients” I hate that word LOL ,the right businesses BIG ones you could make 6 figures a year easy. Would be alot of work because many people think just cause they paid you they own you. I think it would be perfect for you :)
Can I get a FREE Backround LOL
http://twitter.com/jsinkeywest
PS also reality is in your favor because most of these so called well known people are getting phased out their arrogance and pedestals crack because they forget the basics and where they came from.
Need any help FREE let me know I’m down .
Stumbled
You should make this post private and get the right domain.Bamm

John, TPO dot com and T-P-O are already taken…I am not sure I would want to do be a full time TPO anyway…I would probably want to develop a TPO system to teach to others to do..maybe hire people who would could do the TPO training and then become a certified TPO…it surely isn’t that hard to do…I am not sure if you want me to do your background, I bet you can do way better than I anyway…

You should develop a training program for TPO development as well as for SEO Training. Business training is a big time industry. So many people who are out of work now and looking to transition into new careers could benefit from this type of valuable business training.

Jag, you are so right about business training..the same thing I have been telling and suggesting for eons. I guess as an ex-educator, I am a bit partial to training, but it does seem that the field of business training, including SEO Training, can be very lucrative.
Nice directory you have there Jag…you need a blog with it.

It’s amazing to me how fast twitter has taken the web by storm. I really wouldn’t be surprised to see “TPOs” become more prevalent and important. Social media and reputation online are key. I’ve been working on ideas to get my site integrated with Twitter (thanks to PH’s advice) and I’ve just been amazed at what I’ve found.

Also, it seems that tpo.com is owned by information.com and is just some small search engine… Perhaps you can buy the domain somewhat cheaply?

Search Engine optimization is not rocket science. The key is having good related content to your chosen keywords. Using h1 h2 tags with your keywords, using your keywords in alt and title for images, and most important is getting other sites with similar content to link to you.

Jess, I am not too sure about that…triple letter word domain names are pretty expensive..I seriously doubt it could be had for less than several thousand. What is your Twitter profile?

I like the title you came up with. I know of other people who are doing this. I think you’d have to have proven yourself with a large following before you could go into business for yourself. I’ve thought about doing it as well but I only have 11,000 followers. I don’t think I’ll be an expert for a long time :-)

I don’t intend to get a ton of followers…at least getting a ton of followers is not the goal..helping as many people as I can, now that is a goal.
I have already acted as a TPO for more than one client.

Yea, its amazing how good content will attract the followers. If you get some really good link bait that is truly helpful, the fans will flock to your site.

When I first read your title, I thought to myself, “who would pay for Twitter optimization?” Then after reading your post, I realized the substantial value this could offer to someone who, like me, is unsure of how to implement Twitter in a business/professional environment. There is a lot of media coverage on Twitter, and executives may want to get in on the action. This type of service might be a good way to fill that need.

I never really understood the whole hoopla over Twitter, but as time goes on I do see how it could be valuable for businesses especially. I could definitely see there being a position specifically for a Twitter expert, but they would probably be rolled into a social media type of role in the company.

I just joined twitter to see what all the fuss was about, and I can’t get my pictures I upload to appear by my name. I have uploaded two, and each time it says “That’s a nice picture!”, but still no picture appears. What can I do to solve this problem?

TPO sounds almost like TMO – Television Match Official – with all the current twiiter related stuff happening, there will be a need for good referees, that’s for sure! I think there will definitely be scope for this kind of service, as most people feel quite overwqhelmed when confronted by the simplicity that is twitter. Crazy stuff!

My twitter page already ranks very well for my name. But there were still a couple of tips that I can use from this article.
