A Balloon In The Yard

Posted by Pixelhead

I was busy Tweeting…actually doing a Follow Friday Tweet, when I was called outside.  Apparently a hot air balloon was landing in our yard.

Thought I would share with you great readers.
So has a hot air balloon ever landed in your yard?

Next week I will have a post out that reviews our SES NY trip about a month ago…yea I am really behind.

Have a great weekend.

That’s incredible! LOL! I was looking at how close the balloon was to the corner of your house. How in the McWorld did it land right there without nailing the corner of the house a ripping a huge hole in it???

Incredible!

It was about 2o yards away from the house…all in all it was very controlled. I imagine if the wind had picked up though, it very well could have ran into the house. The guys who were flying though were real pros. The guy who made the balloon, lives about 10 minutes from us, and is one of the top balloon makers in the country. The other two guys that were with him were long distance balloon riders. One of the guys had actually flown a balloon across the Atlantic From Maine to Africa, which he said took him about 6 days.
Yea it was seriously incredible.

Wow – fantastic! Did they have to deflate it there, or did they manage to fly off again? Handy that he only lived 10 mins away, I suppose!

It’s not easy landing a balloon, at least not going by my efforts on this: http://www.flasharcade.com/skill-games/play-4650/balloon-landing-game.html !

Yea, they deflated and packed it up in under 10 minutes. Thanks for the balloon landing game, I’ll give a try a bit latter.

well that was cool… i thought they were in some contest and ran out of fuel or something… what is even cooler is they live 10 mins from your house, so you can buy one if you wanna get a balloon for yourself… do you personally know them, prolly ask them for a discount ??

That is funny… Did he at least give you a ride for the inconvenience? I assume everyone was okay.

What the heck happened, was there some kind of malfunction? And what time of day was this?

No rides, but they did give the kids some pins from the movie. The one guy said people will either come out laughing or with guns…we didn’t come out with guns…and yes everyone was great.

Witnessing a huge hot air balloon landing on a backyard is such a WOW experience…I wish such a memorable moment would also happen on our yard…Those kids were really having fun. Indeed, the operator had chosen the right place to land on.

@Dental Products, yea it was pretty cool..I would never had guessed a balloon would be landing in my yard any time soon. I guess when there is a world class balloon maker living nearby, that is a possibility.

Wow. That’s crazy. Having a balloon land in your yard is less likely than winning the lottery or getting hit by lightening.

We have a Three Kings Inflatable yard Balloon and the internal light has burned out…..I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and can help me on how to replace the bulb safely without breaking the balloon…Thanks and Happy Holidays to everyone!

I suppose it could have been worse, and you could have had an UFO land in your back yard! It is quite a paradigm shifter when something unusual just pops into your reality like that though! Some good promotional opportunities definitely exist here!

So, it is pretty much clear that you are working hard on your weekends too. By the way how is your SES NY trip. Will you answer this also in your next weeks writing only or in between itself.

Having a balloon land in your yard is not something that happens every day less likely than getting hit by lightening.

ha, down in Texas we are all “gun totin’ fools”, but I don’t think I would come out with a gun if a hot air balloon landed in my yard. I’d probably call the neighbors. What a strange incident! But very neat!
