Dog Teeth Cleaning | Taco Gets Her Teeth Cleaned

Posted by Pixelhead

In this video, Taco (aka Sugar) of my Future Taco Bell Dog post, gets her teeth cleaned which were in really bad shape with tartar build up. Prior to the cleaning I had tried to clean her teeth and she was very resistant. Dodie instructed me in the proper way to dog teeth cleaning, which is to use a little finger brush on Taco’s teeth. About 30 seconds on each side of the dogs teeth. Tops and bottoms. Since the cleaning Taco’s teeth, have become much whiter and easier to clean, and her breath is much more bearable.

The sounds Taco made while getting her teeth cleaned were really funny. She actually makes those same sounds when she is outside and thinks that she is locked out.

Anyway, your welcomed world, Taco is ready to do some Taco Bell commercials.

Heheheheh! I know how bad the breath can get on older dogs. Good on you for having the courage to brush Sugar’s teeth. What interests me is to see where you are going to rank for dog teeth cleaning after this post has been crawled.

My dog has horrible breath you can smell a mile away. Part of it is she has kidney failure, which I recognize causes foul breath. But she’s also 10 years old and never really had any dental care before. In the last few months, about the time her bad breath became noticeable, she developed nasty tartar on her teeth. She will probably have to be anesthesized to have her teeth cleaned. We understand at her age and health, there is a risk of death. How much should I expect to pay for this type of teeth cleaning?

I agree with Avi on this topic as well. I do not personally use social bookmarking sites as a part of my arsenal of tools.I do believe that we must first engage our readers with relevant content, and not just try and market to the masses, especially on websites like Twitter, Facebook.

I have an English Sheep Dog. Great dog, friendly, obedient, soft and furry. But hates to have anyone touch her mouth. She produces a gag reflex every time I try to clean her teeth. Its unnerving. My wife refuses to even try, because she’s afraid she’ll get puked on…..LOL!

I guess dogs are like human also. Why we get bad breath? Its because we dont have enough sleep, late night, and not enough of water.we tend to drink alcohol which dehyrate our body fluid.same apply to dogs “DOG GET BAD BREATH” not from food.

A dental cleaning is a procedure done to clean the teeth and extract any loose teeth. The age at which the procedure is done varies – smaller breed dogs and cats will need a dental cleaning done at a much younger age, some as young as 2 years.
Larger breed dogs may not need a dental cleaning until they are in their senior years. Below I’ve outlined the procedure along with some questions you should ask when scheduling a dental cleaning.
Pre-Surgical Blood work – It is always a good idea to do blood work before your pet under goes anesthesia, especially if your pet is considered a senior
Anesthesia -More than likely your pet will not say awww, so in order to perform the dental cleaning your pet will need to go under anesthesia.

At a vet, it would cost hundereds, with Anypetgroomed it was just 30 bucks. Sadly Dodie’s services are only available in the Lehigh/Berks PA area. But maybe if you stop by her site and ask, maybe she can refer you to a groomer in your area.

Did she have scissors in the dogs mouth?! Yowch! I was going to try to clean my dogs teeth (she is a minpin who makes a similar sound to your dog-LOL) but she tends to snap when you start putting things in her mouth. And the DIY dog cleaning is much less expensive!

You will also see a difference in gum inflammation and irritation. If she needs extractions, then only a vet under anesthesia is going to work. By the way, bad teeth and lead to kidney failure so the longer you allow the bacteria to remain in her mouth the harder it is on her kidneys.

You can use the spray and just spray it directly in her mouth or use the gel and brush her teeth with it. I prefer using the spray, as my dogs are not very cooperative when it comes to actually brushing their teeth, but you would probably get faster results by the actual brushing.

It is mandatory to maintain our pets health. Because our pets walks with us, plays with us. So it is our duty to maintain their cleanliness. It would be better take care of the dogs teeth as dogs are the man’s closest pet among all. This also will be a preventive measure for illness.

Wow, Im shocked at how many poeple did not know that it was beneficial to brush your dog’s teeth!
Bad breath is just the asthetic problem. What is really a concern is the illnesses that plaque can cause. All of the brown buildup on dog’s teeth is full of bacteria and when the gums get inflammed that bacteria is making it into their bloodstream and can affect all the organs.
If you can’t or won’t brush your dog’s teeth I have found that plain rawhide chews work really well at keeping the plaque buildup down!

teeth cleaning is important for canines and people. While i deal mainly with the human species, I know my dog gets her teeth cleaned regularly!

It is important to keep your teeth clean and healthy, I have seen and repaired people’s teeth who did not feel the importance of at least a daily brushing.

Haha, that’s cute. Even dogs should have the chance to take care of their dental problems. I tried bringing my yorkie to my Freeport dentist and my dentist laughed at me.
