Whats on Your Christmas List?

Posted by Pixelhead

Since the last post about the Nikon D3000 contest I came across another CrunchGear post that reviews the Eye-Fi Pro 4GB wireless SD memory card.  I did a blog post about a video review of the 2GB Eye-Fi Media Card almost 2 years ago.

Wow, that was a blast from the past. At the time of that blog post, I was unable to embed videos, so I just took a screen shot and linked to the Viddler page for the video which I might as well embed now.

So it’s almost two years later, and I still don’t have one of these chips. Now they have a 4G chip, and it is now going on my Christmas list.

Since Black Friday is rapidly approaching, I don’t feel too bad about writing a post that talks a little bit about the commercialization of Christmas. I better stop ranting..sorry. How to reduce the Commercialization of Christmas will just have to be an upcoming post.

The list of STUFF on my Christmas List

  1. 4GB Eye-Fi card
  2. A new compact digital camera for restaurant pics for thegrubhound.
  3. A new air compressor.
  4. A gas or cordless  bush trimmer( I cut too many electric cords with my old corded trimmer)
  5. a new 5 gallon gas can that doesn’t leak
  6. new dress shirts
  7. new undies
  8. new jeans
  9. a gas or cordless blower
  10. solar panels for house
  11. wind turbine
  12. new laptop
  13. a 4 wheel drive
  14. Xbox 360
  15. PS3
  16. A dozen of whatever is the must have present for this year?
  17. YakTrax for climbing my driveway.
  18. I just saw an infomercial for Back Joy and just have to add it to my list.

What’s on your Christmas List?

Got a Christmas list blog post, why not drop the link to it here.

xbox 360! Woohoo! If you get one let me know what your gamertag is and I will request your friendship! Currently playing COD and loving it. I have decided to purchase a new laptop for myself this year but am having trouble deciding how much to spend… any suggestions on where to start my search?

Ps thank you for adding me to your Twitter List!

I’m still on the venture of making my listings. I still haven’t figured out my priorities for my list. Can’t wait for the Holidays. Thanks for this post. And you sure did have a lot to buy.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and a Sony Playstation 3. I really don’t game much on consoles, but I want a blueray player so why not get a game console too while I’m at it. Plus the file browser on it is pretty cool.

I don’t expect to get any of these things..I make my list so people will have an easier time shopping for me. The dozen of the must have gift would be to give away to kids that are in need. I am sure I will be adding to the list as I come across items that might be useful. My wife thanked me for this Christmas list post, because now she knows where to find my list.

Some of the favorites at work and home are white chocolate covered pretzels and you can decorate them up anyway you want. My homemade fudge. Also, don’t really have a name for it but you melt some carmel along with some sweetened condensed milk and roll a big marshmallow in it and then roll that in Rice Krispies.

I guess my Christmas list reflects what my kids want. My goal in gift giving is to make everyone happy. If I get something like a gift certificate or jeans I’m good to go. I believe Christmas is about giving rather than receiving. Now if someone wants to give me a Porsche I wouldn’t turn it down though.

Luigi, I could not agree with you more on all counts. Giving is so much better, but then again, who doesn’t like to get a great present. I also love to give great presents.

My Christmas list is quite modest this year:

4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris (new version)
Crush It! by Gary Vaynerchuk
Jeans
Couple of polo tee’s
Maybe a Blu-Ray or two
Oh and I would love Assasin’s Creed 2 on PS3!!

I’ve also got about 20 people to buy for and will be spending approx. $30 on each one so that’s a cool $600 on presents alone this year!

They say giving is better than receiving though :)

Out of your list the 4X4, wind turbine and solar panels are the items I desire the most. When you’re shopping for solar apnels you must remember to get the best possible charge controller that can get the most out of your panels. Do you have a solar geyser?

Top of my list for christmas would be a copy of Diablo 3. The fever-pitch excitement in the gaming community for this much-anticipated game from Blizzard is so high it would make your blood boil. I can’t wait to have my hands on the game and my eyes full with the awesome graphics ! Just by looking at the trailer makes me drool with anticipation.

I would love a new laptop myself, along with a decent UPS / Inverter with a BIG battery that can power my desktop pc through all the pesky power failures we’re experiencing in South Africa. It will also serve as mains line lightning protection for our frequent thunderstorms. One day I’m not going to be around to unplug in time…..

I’m not expecting much this year, because I have spent a lot of money last year in general. I haven’t even started thinking of anything. Give me a minute…..
I would probably get a new phone or guitar.
Or just some bonus so that I can get some new clothes for summer, books and music and stuff.

Cool SD card feature! I would prefer it upload directly to my computer instead of going to a 3rd party site although I hear theyre working on an update for that? There is some configuratin on the Eye Fi software that lets you schedule the uploads to the website? Like what if I dont want it to directly get uploaded but instead later when Im sleeping or something?

OK, so my wish list for Christmas:
1) New laptop (mine is over 2 years old)
2) 64gb iTouch
3) A reindeer! Kidding. :)

The biggest ticket item on my list was a large LCD TV which they had fairly good deals on at various retailers on Black Friday. However, I didnt feel like facing the maddness of the crowds. I’m hoping that a site like newegg will have a better deal sometime between now and the new year.

Well, my teenager asked for a flat screen plasma wall-mounted TV for his room (we already have a 110 inch screen in our media room down the hall from him), a sound system for his new car, lots of clothes, and $1,000 of spending money. (He already has the iPhone and all the other goodies, too.) If money isn’t a problem for your parents, then go for the gold.
