Posted by Pixelhead

Why yes of course you can sell ads on your Twitter account. Will you make a ton of dinero selling ads on Twitter? I seriously doubt it. Below is a list of services than can help you to sell ads or buy ads on Twitter. I have only used several of them. I also started using one a while ago, and ended up sending out more than a few tweets for teeth whitening products..got to hate those ads.

10 Ad brokerage Services for selling out your Twitter Followers

This is no way means the list of all lists of Twitter advertising services. If you have used any of these or any others, please let me know your feedback.

What do you think?

Is advertising on Twitter or selling tweets a good or bad idea?

I was using REVTWT before they renamed it. I sent out a few of those teeth whitening ones too. I think in total I made a little over 4 bucks, on about 4000 twitter friends. I found the only way to make any money was send your own ads and not use the automated part of the program. Even that was limited success. Need to focus on new friends, but taking to much time for the little rewards.

Cheers

I have seen people doing this, and while I don’t disagree with selling ads, I am not on board for it on communities like Twitter.

Just my opinion on it though….

I have about 2000 followers. Can I sell ads with the small base that I have?

Yes, Revtwt will allow you to post ads to a 2000 people twitter account. I have accounts as small as 328 that I use to post ads to. I don’t use it much anymore as I found I was not getting much benefit from it for the time I was spending doing ads. I tried their automated feature, but it has been discontinued in its old forum so I have not been using it much lately.

Hope that helps,

Cheers

Well You get a cut as a Partnership with Blogger/blogspot. Just like YouTube. So if the click pays 0.30 then you would get 0.10.

Very interesting post. I don’t think people on Twitter will be interested in these kind of ads so think, like a poster above mentioned, it would take too much work with a reward not suitable for the time spent.

This has been going on for some time now. I can only speculate that in the future it will be a lot more prevalent.

I wonder how Twitter will react? I’m sure they wouldn’t want all of their real-time search feeds cluttered with ads and “spam.”

You know, I agree with you that selling something is the way to make money on the internet, whether it be ads or toothpaste.

However, it seems to me that over and above the presentation of a blog, one does actually have to have deep knowledge or skill in an area to make consistent money, especially if one wants to live on his or her online income.

OK so there are products that people need for sale. That was and is true for AMWAY. But, for every one who has made money with AMWAY, there are legions of others who did and do not, unless they want to purchase their own products.

So, I come back to my point, there can only be so many SEO or web marketing experts selling their services. Then there has to be real knowledge or skill on the part of the blogger, or a product that not everyone on the planet is attempting to unload.

In other words, I think the message currently for many web marketing consultants is: Just get your blog in shape and don’t worry about how much you know beyond that. I’m not sure that’s a balanced message.

There are very few people who ever make any money online. It usually goes the other way.

My friend, Sherry, is able to make a living completely online by recruiting for Linda Christas Academy/College. But, in that case her “product” is extremely depthful, and not a lot of people are doing it, even though the College accepts online recruiters rather easily, I understand.

Am I off base here?

If you have a large following and are very active on twitter then I agree, selling ads on your account would be a good idea. People may not be interested but you might as well do it anyways.

To prevent this, go to settings and lock your account. This means you will get a notification when someone tries to follow you. You can either allow them to follow you, or just click ignore and they cant see your stuff or spam your page.

I think you have to disclose that it is a sponsored tweet and for me only having 500 followers I would begin to get unfollowed and it would be noticeable.

I guess you could do it, but it would really depend on who your followers are and how much they are getting hit with ads already. In my case I have started to cull those followers who constantly tweet nothing but ads.

Twitter really helps a lot of businesses worldwide. Actually, I have been using this community site for almost 2 years and with that span, I could say that my business is progressing.. And now that I have seen other ways on how to sell ads, those can be more helpful in my business. By the way, your blog site is amazing!

I think advertising on Twitter or selling tweets is a good. Most of the people use twitter for sale, it is effective when your account is active and should have follower as much as possible, then it would be effective to sale product or for business.

You can definitely sell ads but as people have been saying, you won’t get that much money. The real revenue comes from advertising things that you’re selling on your own, or some sort of affiliate offer. If you have that many followers, advertise something that will get you $15 in commission per sale rather than something that’s $0.15 per click.

I don’t really like the idea of Twitter being used for selling ads. I already receive plenty of spammy tweets from the people I follow. And they’re good accounts. I can’t even imagine why and how people can follow accounts only used for ads or spamming. I think Twitter can really be used just to build a brand for yourself, a follower base that you can send to your website. You can sell ads on the website then, not on Twitter.

It is definetly possible to sell ads on Twitter however the greater question becomes do you really want to? To me the twitter adds seem to have to low an ROI to really be worth it not to mention you risk alienating your followers.

The concept of aggregating tweets and syndicating them on web pages isn’t new, either, although it’s more commonly seen on an individual’s blog or other content-based websites than it is within paid-media placements. There are several widgets, blogging tools and independent third-party apps that can be placed on a website or blog to stream tweets organized by user, hashtag or keyword.

Living in a capitalist country, just about anything is for sale. High rated bloggers get endorsed for products that they promote in their blogs and in their tweets. Ads makes complete sense but will it catch on? Who knows. Apparently the Venture Capitalists think there is money to be made on Twitter since they just fed Twitter $35 million last year (Total maybe $100 million+???).

I bet Google will be able to embed Adsense in Twitter within the year. Twitter needs to make money somehow. A revenue share makes sense but the execution needs to be flawless

Companies have been paying people to tweet for about a year now. It’s rarely, if ever, the amount of money these people are talking about, but anyone with a little initiative can get paid to tweet. You generally get about a buck a tweet, but honestly it takes a few hours to bang out 100 tweets and if you really need $100 or $150 towards food or rent I see nothing wrong with it.

I don’t think its a good idea to sell ads on twitter. It decreases our value and no one will be eager to see our tweets. So our good impression will be infinitive and will be no good communication skill if we sell ads.So make a twitter interesting and share useful tweets which will helps to increase IQ level of followers.

I think that it’s a REALLY bad idea actually. With a Twitter account it’s just like with any blog or site. As soon as you start mixing advertise, sponsored links and affiliate promotions with your real content (so it can’t be told apart anymore) you lose credibility.

Twitter is good social networking media from which we can promote our own blog.I think if we start doing Ads then after 2mth there would be no any value of our account. Our followers will be feed up by viewing our tweets. So i think we should concern on our own blog rather than doing any ads.
