Facebook Fan Pages are Cached
Posted by Pixelhead
Since creating the Baldydog Facebook Fan Page, we have really not done too much with our fan page. However, the other day, I got a Google Alert for the our company name “baldydog”. I opened the email and s
aw that the Facebook Fan page was the mention..kind of strange, since I had not posted anything on the fan page in quite some time.
Not thinking about it too much, later on that day, I came across a post on Facebook or Twitter that Google is now caching Facebook Fan pages, but not the millions of user pages. I think the person that left the messege might have been a little annoyed that their personal face book pages were not going to show up in Google.
So knowing that these pages will now be seen by not only my Facebook fans, but also anyone that might come across them on Google. Cool, that just might provide me a little bit of incentive to post on it more frequently.
What is the Purpose of the Baldydog Fan Page?
But what will I do with the fan page? As Social Media Marketing, commented on the Creating a Facebook Fan Page, how will it benefit people who become fans of Baldydog on Facebook?
- Find helpful SEO and Online marketing resources or blog posts which are not mine.
- Find links to SEO related blog posts that I have done here or elsewhere.
- Allow fans to share SEO related info.
- Be a place to pass on Baldydog.com news.
- The Fan Page is another outpost, which will serve to redirect visitors to the blog(s).
What Else can I do to create value for the Baldydog Facebook Fan page?

Providing some great tools on your fan page helps a lot. Also, answering some questions by your fans posted on that facebook page adds value and authority on the page.
