Free Directory Pegasusdirectory.com

PegasusDirectory Logo

A free directory of great quality, Pegasusdirectory.com, that I first found via the Directory Critic where Pegasusdirectory has a rating that I truly envy, but is very deserving. Pegasus Directory not only has many quality sites in its very broad category base, but it also has many additional features that make it a directory owner’s directory of choice. Today I just noticed their new pixel page that has an unbelievably low cost for a pixel page. I signed up Pixelhead for a nice one up on the top left corner. The pixel page also has a Pixel list page with it that lists all the sites that are buying links, with a link to the site, the number of pixels, and the number of hits to each page.

The site also has some other features to include a pixel page blog, a new forum which I just joined, not that my comments are very insightful, especially at 11pm at night when I should be sleeping in my nice toasty warm bed watch Law and Order, but I digress. I also noticed the Myspace tweaks page, and briefly browsed through, and will have to hit it up to tweak my lame Myspace page out just a little bit. Maybe then I will get more than 5 contacts.lol

Anyway, PegasusDirectory.com is a really cool site with lots of features that you should definitely take the time to visit. I added them to my del.icio.us page, and suggest anyone who reads this does as well.

100 Lists Web Directory

The100lists.com Logo

I was on one of my favorite directory related sites last night, the Directory Critic, when I came across the quality directory The100lists.com, which I discovered, is much more than a general directory. The home page of the directory has a simple, yet stylish look. Along the left side of the page are the top ten sites, then directory categories are along the right. The100lists is a W3compliant website, which has a mission to make the WorldWideWeb a better place.

I also like the SEO Blog feature of the site which has some very insightful posts about the Internet, SEO, Page Rank updates, and where they also have the post about the site of the month for the directory. This is where I first heard that Google page rank updates are on the way…I can hardly wait. Oh, I am one of the people who thinks it is important, but for now, has none.lol

Free Directory Submissions to Pixelheadonline.com

Free submissions to the directory have ended…we made regular submissions a low price of 2 dollars per regular listing, 1 dollar for reciprocal links (we prefer to have three way links) We decided to end the free submissions and to put a price on the listings because we have gotten way to many free submissions, and it is taking way too long to accept submissions in a timely manner while checking each submission to make sure it is a quality site.

All sites that have submitted up to this time will be processed as time permits.

Improving Search Engine Rankings

I was reading a blog posting about Improving Search Engine Rankings, entitled, 4 Most Important Steps You Can Take To Improve Your Search Engine Rankings.  The four steps to improving search results according to Darren-Mclaughlin, seem to resemble many of the methods that many other marketing specialists and myself currently use. I have been a proponent of blogs as a marketing device for quite a while now, to include the use as a website blog were the updates and site changes could be discussed.I also have an experimental blog, Cache Hypothesis Bowling Links, where this blog was primarily used to test how effective a blog would be as a three way link partner tool. The results speak for themselves. As of this posting, the only other cached link in Pixelheadonline is/was Pixelhead Bowling category.

One other step or element I suggest using for marketing is a niche web directory associated with the particular website, to be used to gain three way reciprocal links. This will also help to make the particular website a more valuable resource.

I am sure there are many other methods to increase your SERP results, but these are just a few of the methods that I currently use. Others will be forth coming and will be discussed in this blog or one of my others.

Directory Promotion with LinkStumbler.com and others

We have been promoting the directory in the forums, which has really brought a lot of traffic and a bunch of really good linking partners. One of which is the webmaster for Link Stumbler, which is a nice looking general directory. Not only did we purchase a banner add with yours truly on it, but we also have a link in his autoresponder email, so that when he gets submissions to his site, we get a link in his acceptance email. Quite a bargain. Other methods of promoting the site include:

This is a short list, and I am sure there are others I am forgetting, and there are sure to be more in the future that will arise.

Haabaa.com | Directory

Haabaa Logo
The first premium submission to Pixelheadonline.com came in from Haabaa.com, a general directory with two paid methods of submission, and a free method that requires a reciprocal link on a PR 3 page of the reciprocating site. Haabaa.com currently has a home page PR of 6 with page rank also in the subcategories. When doing a link building campaign for quality websites, this is one of the premium directories that is frequently used to acquire backlinks. Haabaa.com has some wonderful features that make it one of the best directories to submit new sites. However, as the site visitor spends more time on the site, it becomes apparent that Haabaa is much more than a direcory, but is sure to become a portal that many will visit for reasons other than submitting websites. Some of the features include:

With just these few things, Haabaa is sure to become a favored site of many Internet users, not just the Webmaster who is working on his link building campaign. If you get a chance, stop and browse.

The premium listing for Haabaa in Pixelheadonline.com can be found at http://pixelheadonline.com/Directories/ along with many other directories. The premium submission includes this site review in the Pixelheadonline Blog along with the top placement in the requested category. The Site review is currently offered as part of the premium submission, but will become a seperate premium option as popularity increases.
