Just a quick post, since I am on vacation in New Orleans and not planning on spending the entire vacation online.
Sonnie’s Porch wrote a post about the LinkLove pluggin and talked about the difference between the Linklove pluggin and the DoFollow Pluggin and has convinced me to use the Linklove pluggin on this blog. First, the Linklove pluggin will encourage more quality comments. First time commentators, will have a No Follow attribute attached to their comments, and will have to make a minimum number of quality comments to have the No Follow attribute removed from their comments. Second, Sonnie put it forth that Google may be penalizing Blogs that use the DoFollow pluggin because they are giving away too many links. Sounds possible.
My Concern about the LinkLove Pluggin.
When installed will commentators that have met the minimum requirements already, benefit from it or will it only take into account comments that are made after it is installed?
Anyone have any opinions about the LinkLove Pluggin?
Oh sorry about the Captcha, please make sure to fill it out, before hitting the submit button. I will be moving it after vacation.

As David Hopkins suggested in the Freakin Spam post comment, I have added the CaptCha plugin that uses actual text images from vintage books to make sure commentators are humans
and not bots. By using this plugin you can help to digitize some old books. Sounds pretty cool to me, but as long as it reduces the Spam that has plagued me recently I will be more than a happy camper. I believe I first heard about the pluggin from Steli of SuperCoolSchool, but I could be mistaken.
I also am not sure if it will do anything to the page load times or anything, but I will monitor it and uninstall if I find it slows load times down tremendously.
I also just activated the DoFollow Pluggin, that I had installed a while ago, and forgot to activate…oops…I had gone into the template and changed the “No Follow” to “Follow”, but had not done it so that links left in the actual comments would be “Do Follow”. Links in the comment name url link box were Do Follow, but links left in the actual comment were “No Follow”. So activating the Do Follow plugin has enabled links in the comments to not have the “No Follow” tag. Thanks again to Clive for letting me know about the “No Follow” in the comments.
I will be monitoring links within the comments and will only allow relevant links.
Update 11/8/2007: I have deactivated the re-Captcha due to complaints. However, if the spam starts up again, I will reactivate.
Several recommendations I would like to be made while using it the Recaptcha Pluggin include:
- Must also work on placing it above the comment submit button.
- When activated, the comments do not show up underneath the individual posts, you must actually click on the comments link to see any comments that have been made on the post.

This is my late Blogging against abuse post which was a blogging event that was held by BlogCatalog.com. Yesterday 1000+ bloggers from around the globe were blogging about various facets of abuse. As Jon from SWR said in his post
yesterday, that is why it was such a great event because it was able to be tailored to each blog so that the blog was able to stay on topic.
One of my Blogging against abuse posts was about Animal/pet abuse. Check the first link on this post or click on the image to the left to see a lot of great abuse posts from participating blogs.
Abuse topics included but were not limited to Child abuse, domestic abuse, pet/animal abuse, and political abuse.
This blog, still does not have a well specified topic. Although I do tend to have more posts about marketing to be specific SEO, than other topics. I guess that could be considered a cornerstone post.
What I really want to blog about is the abuse of time. I and lots of other people seem to abuse the time we have on this Earth. It is only so long, because as we all know, we are not eternal. Hopefully my words will be around forever, but I am doubtful if I will write anything so profound that it will be around for the ages. So in order to stop wasting or abusing time, I am going to put this blog on to a blogging schedule. I will have a specified type of post to do on each day of the week. Sundays no posting will be done unless I decide to do one for fun.
Pixelheadonline Blogging Schedule
- Monday- SEO Monday
- Tuesday- Site Review Tuesday
- Wednesday- Web2.0 Wednesday as Lizzie suggested.
- Thursday-Photography and Graphics Thursday
- Friday-speedlinks, commentators links posts,memes,blogging events
- Saturday- game reviews
This is what I have so far. Got any idea or suggestions?

Today the blog for Pixelheadonline is a year old. As many of you know, the idea for Pixelheadonline was originally to be a pixel advertising site where advertisers could purchase advertising on pictures of my head. Instead of just buying advertising on a page, advertisers would buy spots on a silhouette of my head or something like that any way. The original idea for Pixelheadonline was on a Body Billboard Post.
So first there was a directory, then there was the blog. The url for the blog was blog.pixelheadonline.com, but was transfered over to the sub-domain within several weeks.
The first post on the blog was Hard Money Lenders, a site review of a premium submission to the directory. Hard money lenders for FYI are lenders that lend money to investors who buy real estate that is bought to be flipped. The hard money loans are not made by traditional money lenders, but private money lenders or individuals that invest in real estate. Check the post out and the site for more info on hard money and flipping houses.
What Now?
So a year has passed, and what happens now? I would still like to do something with pixel advertising, but who knows. I have also thought that the name sounds like it could be a graphics design site or a digital photography site. Both of which I have very limited knowledge of, so those ideas seem unlikely.
Got any ideas or suggestions?

A review post of all the posts and changes at Pixelheadonline during the last two months was done on the free blog, Pixelheadonline.wordpress.com. This blog is used as a supplemental blog to this one, where changes are documented on both the blog and directory.
The post includes a few details about events and changes, and then a list of all the post urls along with their titles.

HelpYouWork.com ReviewLink Love for Commentators
Just a short little post about some site updates.
I got the top commentator widget to work. After reading Jonathan from SmartWealthyRich.com post about his updates I was inspired to add it as well. I had tried to add it a similar widget before, but was unsuccessful. The advice from PersonalFinanceAdvice.com, were I downloaded the program, was very helpful.
I would also like to do a weekly post that gives links to some groovy posts of top commentators, much like David of Pureblogging.com does every week. I like these post not only because it spreads the link love, but it also highlights some posts that David things would be good reading for the rest of his readers.
I also put the Twitter widget in the sidebar. I am really getting into it, but may have to cut myself off because of its ability to reduce my productivity. Can not have that now can I. I sense a post about productivity coming on here( I do owe Steli one).
One last change that is only noticable to me, but other wordpress users should also use, I activated Askimet to reduce spam.
Future Change:
Just looking at the site to see if there are any other updates, and noticed my side bar is awfully long, really need to get a new template with at least two sidebars. A new template will hopefully be in the works with in the next couple of months.
Got any suggestions for Themes?
