HelpYouWork.com Review
Posted by Pixelhead
A quick post on a directory that I was on this morning, while doing client work. HelpYouWork.com is just a general web directory. So why am I writing about it?

I am writing to tell you the readers and hopefully the owners of HelpYouWork about this directory for two reasons. First, it uses session ID’s to identify the visitors to the directory. This is bad for search engines, so until they discontinue using session ID’s, I would not place a lot of stock in it as an SEO tool. Do submit your sites, but just don’t expect either a lot of Google juice or visitors from this site. Session ID’s leave a bit of code on users computer(cookies), which can be used to track visitors for a number of reasons which I don’t want to get into here.
The second reason I am writing about HelpyouWork.com is because it does not have a method of contact. I really dislike directories that do this. If I am on a directory and have a suggestion or would like to inquire about advertising, a contact form is the ideal. I also think it is a good thing to have so that if a visitor comes upon a dead link, they can contact the directory owner and let them know, thereby improving the quality of listed sites.
Well thats my little rant on directory features that I don’t like for today.
Do those of you who submit to directories have features that you hate or like as well…Let me know.

The most irritating thing about submitting sites is how much time it takes.. there are folks who will do this for you for a fee, but, I’ll have to wait ’till I have the money..
