Paul NewHomeSection has a post about Arnold’s action that is being taken in California. The state has started a project that will provide solar electricity for about 1300 homes, which is the first of 150 similar projects projected for the near future in the Terminators home state. Wayne John’s post about the Blogger.com Interface is sure to be a resource for those of you using the Blogger.com blogging platform. Yea, I know Wordpress rules, but Blogger is owned by Google, so a ton of people are using it…I sadly have a few Blogger blogs, and Wayne has been a great resource when dealing with those blogs.

This will be the first in a series of posts about using Social Bookmarking sites for Link Building. Social Bookmarks you ask, what the heck are Social Bookmarks?
Googling “Social Bookmarks”, the first entry in the SERPS is the beloved Wikipedia, which says:
In a social bookmarking system, users save links to web pages that they want to remember and/or share. These bookmarks are usually public, and can be saved privately, shared only with specified people or groups, shared only inside certain networks, or another combination of public and private domains. The allowed people can usually view these bookmarks chronologically, by category or tags, or via a search engine.
Most social bookmark services encourage users to organize their bookmarks with informal tags instead of the traditional browser-based system of folders, although some services feature categories/folders or a combination of folders and tags. They also enable viewing bookmarks associated with a chosen tag, and include information about the number of users who have bookmarked them. Some social bookmarking services also draw inferences from the relationship of tags to create clusters of tags or bookmarks.
Many social bookmarking services provide web feeds for their lists of bookmarks, including lists organized by tags. This allows subscribers to become aware of new bookmarks as they are saved, shared, and tagged by other users.
As these services have matured and grown more popular, they have added extra features such as ratings and comments on bookmarks, the ability to import and export bookmarks from browsers, emailing of bookmarks, web annotation, and groups or other social network features.[1]

Closely behind these is the long standing bookmarking site, del.icio.us. To tell the truth, I have not utilized del.icio.us nearly enough, and have not done any review posts of delicious. I do however have bookmarks there…Here are My Delicious Bookmarks.
The rest of this page in the SERP’s for “Social Bookmarks” includes sites like Addthis that generate social bookmark buttons or sites that will enable you to submit your site to any number of Social Bookmarking sites in a short period of time. I don’t suggest doing this…just seems a bit spammy…but hey if it rocks your boat, check em out.
This little post is intended to be the first introductory post to a series I am intending to do on reviewing various Social Bookmarking sites.
In the category of Social Bookmarking I am including sites like Digg, Stumbleupon, Mixx, Sphinn and the like. Future posts in this series will include reviews of various social bookmarking sites…probably not Digg or Stumbleupon, since I have already written about those sites already. I intend for this series to be a learning opportunity for both you and me, because usually, as I do these posts, as I write and do a bit of research, I learn about the subject. The next thing this does, is it usually serves to increase my network in those various Social bookmark sites.

As you may or may not have noticed, I did not do a mid October top commentators post. From here on out, I will be doing only 1 top commentators post a month. This was done to decrease the number of outgoing links, which hopefully will increase the link juice of the links that commentators do receive.
SoLinkable, which is a social book marking site, has added a Karma widget feature which allows even more promotion of your site on Solinkable.com. I may have to do a review of this clean looking social bookmark site. I just signed up in less than a minute and have added two of the top three commentators posts to my Solinkable bookmarks.
